Hi, my name is Matheus Toledo Teixeira

I’m from a tiny city in Brazil where there is not even a movie theatre, but that didn’t stop me from being inspired by animated movies since I was a kid and wonder about how they were made. My curiosity only grew with time and without much support or resources I learned a few softwares on my own and started freelancing with motion design and 3D modelling. This eventually lead to me becoming an instructor at a design school for a few years and then beginning my journey as a character animator. 

 

I figured out I loved teaching but there was still a lot I wished to learn too, so in 2015 I moved to Canada to take Vancouver Film School’s 3D Animation and Visual Effects 1-year program. It was the best decision I ever made and it absolutely made me a better animator. I moved back to Brazil for a few years and made my way back to Vancouver in 2019.

 

I have been working in the animation industry in Canada since then and I am still inspired and excited by this craft daily, always looking forward for new challenges, being a part of great teams and improving my skill set. I am a Senior 3D Animator and have the honor of having worked in amazing projects such as Monsters at Work, Wondla, Star Wars Yong Jedi and much more. And I can't wait for what's coming next! I am also teaching animation and mentoring junior animators since sharing knowledge and helping others succeed in their careers is one of my great passions in life.

Outside of the office I... love to spend time with my son, watch movies, work out at the Crossfit gym, go on hikes, snowboarding, stay up to date with latest technology and play story-driven video games.
